Talking with Tina
February 17, 2012
I want to encourage you all to go out to Bay's Carnival Foods tomorrow, February 18 from 1pm-4pm.  Mark and I will be there remote live to help Bay's Carnival Foods raise money for a fundraiser they are doing for a lady who is in need of a service dog.  The dog is Adam, the service dog!  Jessi and her mother Dixie are amazing and some great ladies to get to know.  They are so positive and it's just a pleasure being in their presence.  I hope you can make it over to help us raise funds for Jessi's service dog, Adam.
Hope to see you there!
Tina

February 14, 2012 - I had the opportunity to speak with Mr. Daubenmire about his love for his wife Betty.  She currently resides in a Memory Care Facility here in Lancaster.  You will feel the love he has for her when you listen to his story.  You will find out how hard it was for him to find a place he could trust for her care.  Tracy Billingsley with Carriage Court is also with us to share a little about their Memory Care Unit.  Hope you enjoy listening as much as I did.

January 31, 2012 - Michelle and Erik Edmonds, the owners of Scrapbooks 2 Cherish were my guests today.  It was so great speaking with them about their new business here in Lancaster.  If you missed the program and wanted to know what they shared with us I've uploaded it for you.

One thing Michelle realized she didn't get to tell all of my listeners.  Make certain you NEVER, EVER cut your polariod pictures.  It will ruin them.  She said this is very important.

Thanks for listening and checking out my blog!

God Bless and talk with you later!

Have you been wondering where I've been?  I know my blog is something I've attempted to get to, but seem to run out of time from day to day.  Well, here I am to tell you about some of the shows I have aired recently.

December 1 - I had Kathleen Duffus, Life Coach and Motivational Speaker on to share her story and tell us about what a life coach is.  You can check out her information by going to her website at coachthrulife.com.  She is an amazing lady and I enjoyed speaking with her and hearing what she had to say.  Thanks Kathleen!

December 7 - Mike Uscio, Patient Services Manager with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society was here to talk about the society and share with us what they do and how they can help someone who is diagnosed with leukemia, lymphoma or myeloma or how they can help someone who has a family member with one of these types of cancers .   I really had a great hour!

December 9 - Executive Director of the Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation Jen Bowden talked about what the foundation has to offer the community.  The Founder John H. McConnell had a vision and wow!  He sure made it real!  It is stated that Mr. Mac was an honorable man who believed in the golden rule, ‘Treat others as you want to be treated.’ If you get a chance I recommend you to go to their website to find out about what they do.  I sure was quite impressed.  I truly love to hear about those who have great talents as in the Columbus Blue Jackets Hockey Players reaching out to their community and making a difference in the lives of children.  Their website is bluejacketsfoundation.org.  Thanks Jen!  Don't forget to tune in to hear the games here on Talk Radio WLOH!

October 17, 2011

Gabriella Hines is a wonderful young lady whom I am honored to have met.  She is someone who has experienced more in her 20 years of life then most in a lifetime.  She holds the title of Miss Lancaster and is about the go on a journey to California to be in a National Miss Pageant.  She was on to tell us her story about living with a heart disorder called critical aortic valve stenosis.  She had her first heart surgery at 3 days old.  She has had three others since that first.  She is currently working two jobs to purchase formal wear for the upcoming pageant.  Unbelievable!  I wish her well!

Hey all!  Here is a quick review of my wonderful time at the 2011 Fairfield County Fair!

Oct. 10, 2011 - We were "live" at the Fairfield County Fair.  Woo hooo!!!  I was so excited about being there that those who tuned in surely had to have heard it in my voice.  The Fairfield County Fair is my favorite place to visit in October.  The weather was beautiful!  Anyway, I had Jim Marshall, Lancaster Police Community Services and D.A.R.E. Officer was on with me.  We had fun, as we usually do.  Check out our facebook to see us on stage chatting away during the show.

Oct. 11, 2011 - I had the Cattleman's Association on as well as a few 4-H'ers whom shared their experience with their cattle and how they prepare to show at the fair.  They all did such a wonderful job and I now know, and hoping some of you do too, a little about what it takes to show a cow and prepare for it also.

Oct. 12, 2011- Corey Schoonover and I co-hosted the "Humane Society News" show during my program today because it was "Senior Day" at the WLOH tent.  The "Humane Society" show normally airs at 12:30p.m. each Wednesday, but had a bit of a change because of our busy schedule at the fair.  It was nice talking with Corey about what's going on at the shelter.
Blue Star Mothers of America Lancaster Chapter President was on with me to tell us about what the needs are for packages to send out to the troops for the upcoming holidays.  Also, her son was in visiting from Afganistan and because he was there I wore an Army bandana on my head to show support for our troops.  Yes, only during that time of the show.  I did have it hanging from my pocket for the remainder of the day.  :o)!!

Oct. 13, 2011 - Still "live" from the fairgrounds.  Spoke with the 2011 Fairfield County Queen Kaitlyn, First Attendant Lea, Second Attendant Rebecca.  Congratulations girls!

At the end of the hour Ed Smith with JD Equipment talked to me about being an exhibitor at the fair and his support for the Fairfield County Junior Fair Auction.  What a great guy!  Hope to have him on again in the future.

Volley for a Cure 9-20-11
Hey all! I'm rather bummed! I had Mrs. McClure-Spillers come on with me to do a segment promoting an event that is to take place this evening, September 20, 2011 at 6p.m. at the Fairfield Union High School.  Not because she was on with me, because it didn't get to air this afternoon.  If you tuned it you know the game was on.  The event is called "Volley for the Cure".  Proceeds will go toward the Susan G. Komen Foundation.  If you get the chance to go out you can purchase 5 raffle tickets that will, not only give you a chance to win a wonderful prize, but also pay your way into the game.  I have attached the segment here so you can still listen to the interview.  I hope it's a great turn out!  By the way, glad we get to air the game for our Indian fans, just didn't realize it was on the schedule for today. :o)!
September 14, 2011 - Chris Chong, Exercise Specialist, Heath and Wellness Services at Fairfield Medical Center was my guest today.  I'm telling you, it's always a great show when he joins me.  We learned about the fitTOGETHER Task Force.  It sounds like such a wonderful program.  I have uploaded for you to listen.  Oh, just an f.y.i.  I had a conversation about smoking in our first segment and just into the second.  I want you to know that I think of you no differently if you do smoke, I just want to promote health and awareness and by doing so I encourage you to take that step in quitting.  It is not an easy task, because it is an addiction.  I just encourage you to better your health.  :o)!

August 4, 2011 - What some of you may not realize is that I quoted something that Helen Keller had said at the opening of my show.  What I didn't realize until I asked my guests, Don Hillyard and Dave Stockum from the Rushville Lions Club to share a little on the history of the Lions Club, was that their philosophy at the club comes from the the inspiration of Helen Keller.  I couldn't believe it!  It's moments like that do I realize I'm doing what the wonderful Lord wants me to do. That is talk with all of you to hopefully give you, hope, laughter and hopefully much more!  I enjoy what I do and I thank all of you for listening to my program!  God Bless!  Oh, you'll find the show attached.  I learned quite a bit about what the Lions Club offers.  Hope you do as well!  Later all!

Bookmark
This craft is great to encourage your child(ren) to read this summer.  It's fun and easy!  Inexpensive too!
Ribbon (12 to 14 inches long)
Buttons
Tacky glue or glue gun. (Please be certain to assist young children with the glue gun - it can be very hot.)
You can attach buttons to the ends using the tacky glue or glue gun.
Suggestions:
Sandwich the ribbon's ends between two buttons; stacking smaller atop larger buttons; grouping several small buttons in a pattern.  You can use pinking shears to make zig-zag design on the ribbon. (This may help keep the ribbon from fraying also.)
Goodluck! Let us know what you think once you try this craft by going to our WLOH facebook page.
I will share a craft idea with you next Tuesday. You never know, I may attempt the craft on my show live!
